What is coaching?
Coaching is solution-oriented advice and support in the form of regular discussions. These discussions take place between the coaching participant (coachee) and the coach. Professional and private topics can be discussed.
Coaching helps you to formulate or question your goals. It supports you in overcoming hurdles on your life and/or career path. With job coaching, you can tackle career goals or prepare for your new start in the world of work.
Coaching topics and procedure
Basically, you decide which topics should be covered in your coaching. In a preliminary meeting with your coach, you will discuss your coaching goals and jointly determine the individual topics and focal points.
Your individual coaching usually takes place twice a week over a period of one to six months. Your coach will arrange the weekly appointments (2 x 90 min.) with you.
AVGS coaching: up to 100% cost coverage
All our coaching sessions are eligible for state funding. This means that the state will cover the costs of your coaching. This should make it easier for you to start or return to work. Our AVGS coaching sessions pick you up in your current life situation – and you get exactly the support and guidance you need.
If you wish, we can also create an individual coaching offer for you to present to your employment agency or job center. Your advisor will be able to see exactly which AVGS coaching you are interested in. And you can decide together whether this coaching will help you.
Activation and placement voucher (AVGS)
You can request a voucher for job coaching from your employment agency or job center. With this activation and placement voucher (AVGS), you can take part in your job coaching free of charge. We have summarized all the relevant information about the AVGS for you in our blog article.

In career reorientation coaching , you work with your coach to develop job prospects that match your interests and goals. You will gain insights into your strengths, gain clarity about your career path – and take concrete steps towards the job market. Job application coaching or AVGS start-up coaching can also provide you with crucial support as you embark on a new future.

Are you unsure whether you can hold your own in the new world of work? In Coaching Courage for further training you gain clarity about your abilities. You will find out which skills you need to develop or expand for your entry into professional life – and then embark on suitable further training.
Accompanying coaching during your retraining, in the application phase or when you start your job is also possible. In everyday learning, for example, coaching can help you with exam nerves and bring you closer to a successful degree. Job interview coaching prepares you optimally for interviews with potential employers or assessment centers.

For the PC, you may also need a webcam and a microphone or headset. If required, we will be happy to provide you with the necessary equipment.

What is an activation and placement voucher (AVGS)?
The activation and placement voucher (AVGS for short) is a document issued by the employment agencies or job centers for jobseekers.
With this voucher you commission companies to support you on your way to the job market. These can be private employment agencies that place you in employment subject to compulsory insurance, but also training providers. In the latter case, you will attend coaching or a training course via AVGS to increase your job prospects.
You can only submit the AVGS to certified training providers such as GFN. This means that you can take part in a measure free of charge , provided that your contact person at the employment agency or job center has agreed to this in writing before you take part (notice of approval).

Is an AVGS an education voucher?
No. An AVGS is issued for so-called “measures for activation and professional integration”, such as coaching. With the education voucher, on the other hand, you as a jobseeker finance your further vocational training or retraining. However, there are courses that can be paid for using both an AVGS and an education voucher.

Where do the coaching sessions take place?
GFN has locations throughout Germany and also has flexible project locations. So our coaches are there for you all over Germany – certainly also in your area. The easiest way for you to do this is with online coaching, which you can do from the comfort of your own home. A combination of online and face-to-face sessions is also possible.
We can provide you with the necessary IT equipment for your online coaching if required. However, the prerequisite is that your cost bearer, e.g. the Jobcenter agrees to the format you have chosen.

I have health restrictions. Can I still take part in job coaching?
Naturally. One focus of our job coaching is on health and prevention. We work with specialized health coaches and psychologists. In this way, we assess your situation comprehensively and work with you to develop specific strategies that take your health situation into account. All discussions, results and documents are of course treated confidentially.
What is done during the consultation?
A consultation is the easiest way to have a direct and effective exchange. Our qualified consultants will introduce you to the various coaching options and explain the coaching process to you. They take time for you and your questions and discuss with you what you could focus on in your coaching.
They will also be happy to advise you on how to promote your coaching and discuss the steps you need to take to start coaching. You will receive comprehensive advice – free of charge and without obligation, of course.
What happens to my data that is generated during the coaching session?
We at GFN take the issue of data protection very seriously. Of course, we comply with all data protection regulations based on the GDPR at all times. Our coaches are also bound by confidentiality. All data and results are always treated as strictly confidential, this applies in particular to health-related information. We use your data exclusively for successful coaching.
However, depending on the requirements of your funding agency, we are obliged to forward certain results to your contact person at the employment agency or job center. We will of course inform you about this before you start. You therefore have the option of withdrawing from parts of the coaching in advance – but you must also expect that you will then not be granted AVGS.
