Do you have questions about your project management training? We will be happy to answer them.

A project management certification shows that you have the in-depth knowledge and practical skills to plan, manage and successfully complete projects professionally. It is a recognized mark of quality - both in Germany and internationally.

Especially if you are looking for work, a certification can significantly improve your chances on the job market. Many companies specifically look for such certificates in job applications because they show that you can work in a structured way, take responsibility and want to develop yourself further.

With a certification you can:

  • demonstrate your specialist knowledge - e.g. in methods such as Scrum or PRINCE2
  • stand out from other applicants - especially in professions with a project focus
  • also gain a foothold in new industries, for example if you come from a different professional field
  • boost your self-confidence because you know what you can do and can prove it

In our training courses, we convey the central principles and terms. We also introduce you to IT service management with ITIL® - for more efficient digital processes and services.

Agile project management is a modern method of implementing projects flexibly and step by step. Instead of planning everything down to the last detail right from the start, you work in small stages - so-called "sprints". After each sprint, you review what has worked well and what needs to be adjusted. This allows you to react quickly to changes and continuously improve the project.

Agile working in projects originally comes from software development, but is now used in many industries - for example in marketing, product development or event management.

This is typical of agile project management:

  • Teamwork at eye level: everyone involved contributes their ideas and works closely together.
  • Customer orientation: The focus is on the needs of the customer.
  • Flexibility: Changes are welcome if they improve the result.
  • Transparency: The progress of the project is visible and comprehensible for everyone.

Well-known agile methods include Scrum and Kanban. In our training courses, you will learn about these methods and can even get certified - this is particularly helpful if you want to reorient yourself professionally or improve your chances on the job market.

There are various certificates in project management that cover different methods and areas of application. Certificates that are practical and internationally recognized are particularly in demand. Here is an overview of four important certificates that you can acquire in our project management training courses:

PRINCE2® (Projects in Controlled Environments)

PRINCE2 is a structured project management method that is primarily used in larger organizations and in the public sector. It places great emphasis on clear roles, controlled processes and documented decisions. With a PRINCE2 certification - e.g. PRINCE2 Foundation or PRINCE2 Practitioner - you demonstrate that you can systematically plan and manage projects - ideal for classic project environments.

Scrum

Scrum is an agile method that is used particularly in software development and in dynamic teams. You work in short cycles ("sprints") and develop solutions step by step. At GFN, you can acquire internationally recognized EXIN certificates. The most important role-related certificates are Scrum Master and Product Owner. They show that you can lead agile teams or manage requirements - very much in demand in modern companies.

Kanban

Kanban is also an agile method that focuses on the visualization and control of work processes. You work with a Kanban board that makes tasks and their progress visible. A Kanban certificate - e.g. Exin Kanban Foundation - shows that you can organize workflows efficiently and identify bottlenecks - particularly useful in teams with many parallel tasks.

ITIL® (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)

ITIL is a framework for IT service management. It helps to make IT services customer-oriented and efficient.
With an ITIL certification - your entry level is the ITIL® 4 Foundation - you show that you understand and can improve processes in the IT sector - ideal for jobs in technical project management or in the IT industry.

Depending on whether you complete our courses as individual modules or combine them, your project management training with us can take between one and 11 months. Depending on your professional experience and job objective, it may also make sense to combine a project management certification with another area of education - e.g. further training in IT administration.

We will be happy to create an individual training plan for you based on your interests and goals.

After a project management training course, you can work in many different areas - because projects are everywhere: in IT, marketing, construction, industry, healthcare or public administration.

Depending on your professional background and the content of the training, the following jobs may be possible, for example:

  • Project manager - you plan, manage and monitor projects from start to finish.
  • Process manager - you analyze and improve processes in companies.
  • Team leader in project-related departments - you take responsibility for smaller project teams.
  • Project assistant / PMO employee - you support project teams with organization, documentation and communication.
  • Scrum Master or Agile Coach - you accompany agile teams and ensure smooth processes.
  • Product Owner - you represent the customer and ensure that the product meets the requirements.
  • Consultant in the project environment - you advise companies on the introduction or optimization of project management methods.

The salary as a project manager depends on many factors - for example, your professional experience, the industry, the location and the size of the company. The type of further training and certificates you have obtained (e.g. PRINCE2®, Scrum, ITIL®) can also have an influence.

If you are new to the project sector, the average starting salary according to StepStone is around €46,900 gross per year or around €3,900 per month (as of 09/2025). In some cases, the starting salary can also be around €40,000 per year.

Your salary will rise significantly with increasing professional experience: after a few years in project management, you can expect to earn €55,000-66,000 per year. In managerial positions or with specialization, much higher salaries are also possible.

Further training with recognized certificates improves your chances of finding well-paid jobs - especially if you also have professional experience or are applying for a job in sought-after sectors such as IT, construction or pharmaceuticals.
