The ITIL® certification levels
Identical to the previous version ITIL® v3, the ITIL® 4 certification is divided into different levels. The courses build on the knowledge and skills of the previous level. The individual ITIL® training courses should therefore be completed in a specific order.
The ITIL certification offers two development paths: Managing Professional for IT experts in technical or digital business areas and Strategist Leader for (prospective) managers. Each certification path includes several certifications in which you acquire relevant skills for your professional career step by step.

What is ITIL® and why do you need it?
ITIL® (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) is by far the most widely used method for IT service management. It offers best practices for the efficient and effective provision of IT services.
By obtaining the certification, you will gain a deep understanding of the ITIL® framework. The guide consists of a collection of concrete recommendations and best practices that you can use to set up IT services. The aim is to establish IT operations that are as uniform, predictable and customer-oriented as possible.
With the current version ITIL® 4, agile working methods have also arrived in IT service management. The focus is now increasingly on the importance of collaboration and the added value that the individual services should deliver. Instead of processes and rigid rules, you are dealing here with practices and their situational application.
ITIL skills are helpful: they support the development and improvement of digital processes and services. Service processes outside of IT are now also increasingly being set up according to ITIL®, for example in HR or facility departments.


What is IT service management (ITSM)?
